Serenity is yours. When chaos looms seek the sweet surrender of simplicity. Breathe. Stand in witness of true nature. Go within. Be at rest without. Serenity is yours. It lives always within your reach.

  1. After evaluation of your chief complaint and signs and symptoms, acupuncture points along the appropriate meridians (channels of energy flow) are chosen. Fine, sterile(one time use) needles are then inserted. The flow of energy is redirected to correct any imbalance. After twenty to thirty minutes the needles are removed. The body, in homeostasis, has an amazing capacity to correct and heal.

In Chinese Medicine, food is our strongest medicine. Diet should not be confused with “going on a diet”. Diet is what we ingest on a daily basis and is created over time. Think of it as creating the next version of YOU. Like life, it has an ebb and flow. The principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine Nutrition and ways to implement these principles are discussed during your visit. Patterns of imbalance and symptoms can be corrected by food combinations and choices. The ability to absorb the nutrition we take in and eliminate the waste product from this food is a key factor to creating health.

Often herbal remedies are used when more than acupuncture, adjunctive therapies or dietary therapy is not enough. Acupuncture works with your existing energy. Herbal remedies, diet and lifestyle help maintain or augment the healthy balance of energy.

Studies have shown that stress leads to inflammation and inflammation contributes to many of our Western maladies.

  • How do you work, play and rest?
  • Do you burn the candle at both ends?
  • Family, Job, School…a full plate.
  • How do you deal with stress in your life?
  • Stress occurs daily and is not going away!

Including a rhythmic exercise to your routine (i.e. swimming, rollerblading, dancing) yoga, taking time to reflect and meditate, or making room for a hobby can change the effects of stress.

Other Therapeutic Modalities include:

Tui na – medical massage
Cupping – the use of glass cups to move blocked or stagnant energy
Gua sha – A gentle scraping of oiled skin to break up stagnant energy and bring blood flow to the muscle.
Moxibustion – Burning of an herb (mugwort) for the purpose of warming and circulating energy in the body.
